Sponge life on Rathlin’s North Wall

There really is a great variety of non fish aquatic life on Rathlin. It was reported recently in various publications that there was something like 70 new species of sponge identified during a survey of the water surrounding Rathlin Island. Some of these can be seen on Waterworld a programme broadcast on BBC last Autumn. Not sure if this footage shows any or not. There is some Grey elephant sponge though

Enjoyed the video – came out well for the vis / light. Used it and a selection of your pictures in a lesson on animal / plant classifation today, cheers. Its suprising how many of the classroom units (15yrs old) wouldnt believe that sponges were living organisms . . . . . ..

    Hi,

My BSAC branch are coming up to do some diving at Ballycastle in August and from the vids you posted we are very much looking forward to it! I was just wondering where the closest place to get air is as we are launching out of Ballycastle. Does Celtic Waves do air fills?
